British genre film stalwart Haggard (The Blood on Satan’s Claw) brings his A-game to this horror/thriller adaptation of Alan Scholefield’s paperback page-turner, in which a German terrorist holes up with cronies and hostages in a London townhouse, only to discover their hideout happens to be home to a deadly black mamba. Kinski—who took the role over Raiders of the Lost Ark—is in fine, unhinged fettle alongside a stacked cast that includes Oliver Reed, Sterling Hayden, Nicol Williamson, and Susan George, combining to make a work of pure pulp pleasure.
