Director: Abbas Kiarostami, Ken Loach, Ermanno Olmi

2005 / 109min / DCP

Bringing together the formidable talents of Ermanno Olmi, Ken Loach, and Abbas Kiarostami, the genre-hopping anthology Tickets presents three discrete but interconnected stories—involving a daydreaming Italian scholar, a brooding ex-soldier reduced to being browbeaten by a general’s widow, and an encounter between a pack of Celtic F.C. fans and a group of Albanian refugees—that unfold on a train travelling from Innsbruck in the Austrian Tyrol to Rome.

“You will be tempted to pick a favorite among the three sections of this omnibus—resist! Try, instead, to appreciate the way they link together, as only a long-distance train ride, its many moods, can allow.” —Series curator Genevieve Yue
