Gerard Butler is out for justice in Gray’s gritty, ingenious, no-holds-barred Philadelphia-set vigilante thriller/locked room mystery, which has everyone’s favorite tough-guy Scotsman as the bereaved survivor of a bloody home invasion. After taking the law into his own hands with maximum brutality, he enters into a cat-and-mouse game with the prosecutor (Jamie Foxx) who let the man who killed his family live. The dueling duet of Butler and Foxx, along with fine supporting work from Viola Davis and Regina Hall, make Law Abiding Citizen an inspired piece of bloody melodrama.
