Monty Python's Life of Brian

No upcoming showtimes scheduled.
Director: Terry Jones
1979 / 94min / DCP

Nothing is sacred in this R-rated Gospel According to St. Python, in which Graham Chapman’s Brian Cohen of Nazareth, born on the same days that Mary and Joseph welcome their first-born into the world in a neighboring manger, grows up to lead a life that holds up a distorted mirror to that of the Messiah, right down to its ending by crucifixion—in Brian’s case, a merry affair set to the tune of the Eric Idle-penned “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life.” A riotous omnidirectional roasting of radical chic, religious fanaticism, and celebrity culture in which the gags multiply and proliferate like loaves and fishes, funded in significant part by ex-Beatle George Harrison, always the spiritual seeker.
