Still Film preceded by Moon v. State
No upcoming showtimes scheduled.
Director: James N. Kienitz Wilkins
2024 / 88min / DCP
Forty years of film history are explored via a fictitious legal deposition in Wilkins’s witty, offbeat essay on the grip that movies place on the imagination, conspiracy theories, screen personae, and cinematic truth “starring” Samuel L. Jackson, Brad Pitt, Danny Glover, and many other Tinseltown luminaries, represented via 35mm images culled from Hollywood press kits and voiced by Wilkins himself. Screens with Moon v. State, another archival photo-based project in which a perplexing robbery in a small Texas town in the 1950s and its aftermath are described via rapid-fire monologue.
Introduction and post-screening Q&A with James N. Kienitz Wilkins, moderated by Jess Barbagallo, on Friday, August 2nd
