When Pigs Fly

No upcoming showtimes scheduled.
Director: Sara Driver, Sara Driver
1993 / 94min / DCP

Inspired by Thorne Smith’s supernatural comedy Topper, Driver’s dreamy, Joe Strummer-scored ghost story takes place in a rundown east coast port town (in fact, Munich, Germany) where Alfred Molina’s down-on-his-luck jazz musician has his life flipped after an old rocking chair gifted to him by his go-go dancer girlfriend proves to be the home of two ghosts (Marianne Faithfull and Rachel Bella). Müller’s photography imbues When Pigs Fly with a pervasive atmosphere of graceful gloom, befitting to a moodily meditative film on loss and closure that’s dedicated to “the ghosts who walk with us.”
