New Museum Presents From Museum to Screen

From Museum to Screen is an ongoing series of screenings presented at Metrograph in collaboration with the New Museum, working to create a rich and rewarding dialogue between the museum’s latest exhibitions and cinema.
“Throughout each exhibition season, screenings at Metrograph create a shared space for art and film by pairing artists featured in the exhibitions with films that expand on the shows’ themes. Since 1977, the New Museum has served as a catalyst for dialogue between contemporary art and the public. As a non-collecting institution, the museum presents benchmark exhibitions and collaborates with artists to support new productions, experimentation, and new forms of artmaking. On the occasion of artist Arthur Jafa’s major survey at the New Museum, Arthur Jafa: I Am Tony, the series From Museum to Screen continues in December with a screening of Daughters of the Dust, followed by a conversation between Jafa and cinematographer Bradford Young.” —Thalia Stefaniuk, series co-curator and New Museum Curatorial Assistant
