Neil deGrasse Tyson Selects

What Carl Sagan was to the television viewer of the 1980s, Neil deGrasse Tyson—author, astrophysicist, and patient, demotic explicator of the infinite complexities of science to the layman and -woman—has been to that of the 21st century. Tyson is also, as it happens, a keen film fan whose tastes run, perhaps not unexpectedly, towards science fiction… and though his head may be in the stars, Tyson’s physical being will be present at Metrograph to present two of the titles he’s chosen for this, his carte blanche series.

“In the landscape of science fiction films, a select few have piqued my interest the most—largely for how creative their storylines are, how well the story is told, and how the cinematic medium captures both.” —Neil deGrasse Tyson
