By turns charming, enchanting, and sweetly comic, unstinting in its environmentalist messaging though never sanctimonious or finger-wagging, and altogether one of the most endearing of the animated features to appear following the enormous success of Disney’s 1989 The Little Mermaid, which helped revive the magic of animation for a new generation.
