Members Only: In-I In Motion
Director: Juliette Binoche
2025 / 124min / DCP
The origins of Binoche’s directorial debut reach all the way back to 2007 when the doyenne of French cinema and the British dancer and choreographer Akram Khan, both having collected the highest honors conferred in their respective fields, teamed to train one another in their respective mediums and, in doing so, conceptualize a stage show that would demand both performers step out of their comfort zones—this being In-I, premiering the following year at London’s National Theatre. Drawing on extensive footage of both the exhaustive rehearsals that gave shape to the project and its final public presentation, In-I In Motion offers viewers a front-row seat to the creative process, and a unique insight into the continual process of self-education and risk-taking reinvention that has allowed Binoche and Khan to remain such inexhaustibly imaginative artists.
