Includes Green Vinyl, a dark fairy tale in which a girl receives a box of colorful children’s records from her mother, one of them imbued with the sinister air of forbidden fruit; Electrodomestica, a comedy of unease in which a middle-class Recife family’s large stock of electrical appliances combine to create a cacophonous chorus, anticipating the anxious ambiance of Neighboring Sounds; Friday Night Saturday Morning, a long-distance love story between a man in Recife and a woman in Kyiv negotiating the time difference between them, shot in digital black and white; and Cold Tropics, a mock documentary about the effects of a sudden, inexplicable, and long-lasting cold snap in usually balmy Recife.
