Bujalski’s first film with a cast largely comprised of established actors—including Guy Pearce, Kevin Corrigan, Cobie Smulders, and Giovanni Ribisi—is both a departure from and continuation of his previous lo-fi dramas, with Pearce as Trevor, the owner of Austin gym Power 4 Life; Corrigan as Danny, a wealthy deadbeat looking to tone up; and Smulders as Kat, a prickly Power 4 Life personal trainer who Trevor takes for granted and Danny hopes to take away from commitment-phobic Trevor. A deceptively unhurried-seeming film that in fact wastes not a single line or telling glance, Results will be screening at Metrograph with Bujalski and select cast on hand to commemorate its 10th anniversary.
