No upcoming showtimes scheduled.
Director: Craig Johnston
2014 / 93min / DCP
Johnson’s beautifully bittersweet sophomore feature, a breakout at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, stars Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig as two maladjusted, estranged adult twins, Milo and Maggie, who, upon finding themselves suffering simultaneous personal crises, reunite in their childhood hometown of Nyack, New York, where Maggie is struggling to keep up the façade of a happy marriage with easygoing ex-jock husband Lance (Luke Wilson). A sharp-witted film about the doldrums of depression, helped immeasurably in its precarious balance of comedy and pathos by Jennifer Lee’s sure-handed cutting. “Emotionally authentic, atypical in the way it looks at suicide and its ripple effects… Hader and Wiig… make this one of the better movies to come along this year.” —Los Angeles Times
