Exploring the roof of the orphanage where he lives one fateful night, a young boy named Tim is introduced to the hidden world of Nocturna, whose inhabitants are in charge of the hours we mere mortals sleep through: dream writers, hairdressers whose area of expertise is bed-head, and other exotic characters. Teaming with the immense Cat Shepherd, leader of Nocturna’s population of guardian cats and overseer of the sound sleep of children, Tim must endeavor to stop a mysterious disruptive force that poses a threat to this surreal Land of Nod, its landscapes gorgeously rendered through some of the finest 2D animation in recent memory, resulting in a unique visual treat for all ages.
