Director: Amos Poe
1976 / 70min / Digital

Downtown punk meets Nouvelle Vague cool in Poe’s charmingly digressive shot-on-a-shoestring black-and-white time capsule, starring artist Duncan Hannah as a Paris-obsessed would-be gangster photographer besotted by a young woman named Blondie (Debbie Harry, naturally) and actor/filmmaker Eric Mitchell and East Village icon Patti Astor as young lovers Paul Orsalino and “Jeanne Moreau.” Said Poe of his rough-edged No Wave-meets-New Wave production, inspiration for many an NYC indie to come: “I wanted to start where Godard started, to go back to basics: innocence, romanticism, bohemianism, all things that made up New York City for me at that time.”
