On the heels of the inclusion of her latest film in the 2024 Whitney Biennial, Metrograph welcomes multimedia artist Diane Severin Nguyen to present her prior films Tyrant Star (2019) and IF REVOLUTION IS A SICKNESS (2021)—two multivalent moving image works taking pop music, performance, and the revolutionary potential of collective action as vibrant entryways into the intricacies of post-Vietnam War social and political realities through imagined present-day scenes of youth culture in Ho Chi Minh City and Warsaw—before joining This Long Century founder Jason Evans in conversation to discuss the artist's alchemical approach to creation and composition.
