A unique Member’s Only Event celebrating the release of the first English-language edition of Le Dépays, Chris Marker’s 1982 photo-essay book, assembled during the same years that Marker was realizing his film Sans Soleil and, like that superlative companion film, reflecting the author’s fascination with owls, cats, and the people and culture of Japan. A soundtracked live reading of the book by guest readers will be accompanied by a big-screen projection of the exquisite black-and-white photographs featured in Le Dépays.
