The Prince of Tides

No upcoming showtimes scheduled.
Director: Barbara Streisand
1991 / 132min / DCP

For her sophomore directorial outing, Streisand took on Pat Conroy’s bestseller The Prince of Tides, brought to the screen as a romantic drama of unusual emotional intensity. South Carolina high school football coach Nick Nolte heads to New York City to care for his twin sister after a suicide attempt, only to find himself becoming deeply involved with her psychiatrist (Streisand), who helps him to exhume long-buried memories of trauma. Irreproachable performances from both leads, as well as, in supporting turns, Blythe Danner and George Carlin.
