The Godfather Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone

No upcoming showtimes scheduled.
Director: Francis Ford Coppola
2020 / 162min / DCP

For the 30th anniversary of the original release of The Godfather Part III, Coppola released this re-edited version of the film, at once faster on its feet and suffused with a new, elegiac mood. From a new opening—Al Pacino’s aging Michael Corleone glad-handing an Archbishop at the Vatican—we proceed to Machiavellian maneuvers, bloody reprisals, and dysfunctional family melodrama in a bleak, brooding film that, per Coppola’s intentions, finally “vindicates” the capstone of his trilogy as wholly worthy to stand proud alongside its luminous forebears.
