Director: Norman Jewison, Norman Jewison, Norman Jewison, Norman Jewison, Norman Jewison
1968 / 102min / DCP

Steve McQueen stars as a respectable, urbane, charming millionaire businessman who gets his thrills moonlighting as a master thief opposite Faye Dunaway, the brilliant insurance investigator who’s trying to nail him. Jewison’s sexy and sophisticated New England-set caper features a fleet of classic cars, innovative split-screen cinematography by DP Haskell Wexler, fabulous feats of editing table wizardry by Ashby, a sterling score by Michel Legrand, whose “The Windmills of Your Mind” took home an Academy Award for Best Song, and a fine, roguish turn from Yaphet Kotto as one of McQueen’s gang.
