Live and Let Die

No upcoming showtimes scheduled.
Director: Guy Hamilton
1973 / 121min / DCP

Roger Moore’s first outing as MI6 agent James Bond finds the franchise hitching onto the blaxploitation boom of the early ’70s, with 007 traveling to Harlem, New Orleans, and the Caribbean on the trail of Kotto’s drug kingpin/dictator Dr. Kananga. At Moore’s side is Jane Seymour’s psychic tarot reader Solitaire, the two of them facing off against snakes, crocodiles, voodoo priests, and Julius W. Harris’s pincher-handed henchman Tee Hee Johnson. A suave, speedy slab of cloak and dagger action, with a classic theme courtesy Paul and Linda McCartney’s Wings.
