​​“There ain’t never been a rat problem in Baltimore,” says one of the subjects of Anthony’s Rat Film, “it’s always been a people problem.” First looking at patterns of rat infestation in Charm City, Anthony unveils the history of segregation, redlining, and environmental racism that have shaped the city and its neighborhoods for over a hundred years, in a film that combines hard facts and cinematic poetry. Screening with Wieland’s Rat Life and Diet in North America, a satirical allegory about a group of rats (in fact, pet gerbils) being held as political prisoners in the United States by a feline overseer.
