Director: Reed Morano, Reed Morano
2015 / 105min / DCP

Morano’s directorial debut, on which she did double-duty as cinematographer, is a piercing study in the attrition of protracted mourning as it affects one couple: NYC cop Phil (Luke Wilson) and his middle school teacher wife, Sarah (Olivia Wilde). A year after their son was abducted at an upstate gas station, Phil and Sarah struggle to keep up appearances at home and work while shouldering the burden of a trauma with no hope of closure in sight. The committed, spontaneous performances of the two leads and Morano’s handheld camerawork lend this lyric tragedy a rare sense of immediacy, stifling intimacy, and possible danger.

Q&A with director and cinematographer Reed Morano on Friday, April 7th at 6:30pm
