A program of three films by the Pennsylvania-born, UK-based identical twin filmmakers Stephen and Timothy Quay, made up of 1986’s Street of Crocodiles, 1991’s The Comb, and 2000’s In Absentia, was curated as a touring package by admirer Christopher Nolan, selected as representing some of the most unforgettable of the many miniature worlds they’ve created through their films, works whose combination of stop-motion animation and puppetry is instantly recognizable. Paired with Nolan’s own short Quay, a look inside the Brothers’ studio showing their fastidious attention to every stage of the filmmaking process.
