Beginning in 2001, K8 Hardy, by herself or with help from visitors, began a process of almost daily making a record of her outfit using a mini DV camera. This project, which continued until the camera gave up the ghost in 2012, would become a sort of autobiography in clothing, showing not only its author’s changing styles, but a chronicle of her variable moods and slowly shifting sense of identity as manifest through self-presentation. A unique “coming-of-age” film, and a portrait of an artist through the contents of her closet.
