10 Things I Hate About You

No upcoming showtimes scheduled.
Director: Gil Junger
1999 / 240min / 35mm

A very loose adaptation of The Taming of the Shrew, 10 Things I Hate About You is perhaps the quintessential late 90s high school movie. Cameron (a pint-sized Joseph Gordon-Levitt) hires bad boy Patrick (Heath Ledger) to date the sister of the girl he has a crush on in a harebrained (and apparently Shakespearian) plan to get around the strict dating rules of the ladies’ father. The movie’s got it all: the prom, marching bands, and the only American movie where Ledger uses his native Australian accent are abound. It’s just too good to be true.

Over three evenings, Metrograph and Maggie Rogers celebrate the cinematic worlds that inspired Surrender, each followed by a visual listening experience of the album in its entirety
