The Ballad of Gregorio Cortez director Young re-teamed for the eighth time with favorite leading man Edward James Olmos to make Caught, a neorealist erotic thriller in the vein of The Postman Always Rings Twice concerning Joe and Betty (Olmos and María Conchita Alonso), husband and wife proprietors of a Jersey City fish shop, and what happens when they invite a young Irish drifter, Nick (Arie Verveen), into their lives. Nick becomes a substitute husband for Betty and a surrogate son for Joe—which leads to complications when their actual son (Steven Schub) makes a prodigal return from Los Angeles to find how things have changed. A taut, character-based psychodrama, flawlessly performed, culminating in a genuine sense of tragedy.

Intro by Andrew Young and followed by a q&a with cinematographer Michael Barlow, producer Bill Durkin, screenwriter Edward Pomerantz, and actor Arie Verveen August 12
