Director: Jim Van Bebber
1988 / 81min / DCP

Dropping out of film school during his sophomore year, Van Bebber, a Bruce Lee enthusiast fighting out of Greenville, Ohio, took a bank loan intended to pay tuition and bought up some 16mm film with it instead. Shooting on weekends and evenings with friends over a course of years, Van Bebber would summon up this miracle of lean, mean no-budget genre cinema, starring—and doing his own psychotic stuntwork and nunchaku tricks—as “Goose,” a bad MF caught up in an epidemic of brutal, to-the-death gang warfare on the mean streets of Dayton and Cincinnati. A work of visceral rage and dripping disgust, with a mic drop finale for the ages.
