The Secret of NIMH
No upcoming showtimes scheduled.
Director: Don Bluth
1982 / 82min / DCP
When the Walt Disney Company rejected animator Don Bluth’s proposal to adapt a celebrated children’s book by Robert C. O’Brien as too dark, Bluth and several other disgruntled colleagues struck out on their own, and produced one of the best American animated films of the 1980s. Painstakingly made and unusually emotionally mature, the film follows the meeting of a brave-hearted widow, Mrs. Brisby (voiced by Elizabeth Hartman) and a pack of escaped, ultra-intelligent lab rats, uniting to save her imperiled home.
