Geraldine Page, Bob Newhart, and Eva Gabor are among the vocal talent assembled for Disney’s vivacious adaptation of Margery Sharp’s beloved book series about the Rescue Aid Society, a group of dauntless mice who travel the world to lend aid to kidnapping victims. Here R.A.S. representatives Miss Bianca (Gabor) and Bernard (Newhart) rush to Devil’s Bayou, Louisiana, where they liberate a little girl named Penny from the clutches of the nefarious Madame Medusa (Page) and her trained crocodiles, Brutus and Nero, while at the same time tasked with keeping a precious gemstone safe from the villainess. A spirited, swashbuckling adventure, made with brio by Disney’s crack animation team led by rising star Don Bluth.
