No upcoming showtimes scheduled.
Director: Walter Hill
1987 / 105min / 35mm
Nick Nolte reteamed with his 48 Hrs. director Hill to portray grimly stoical Texas Ranger Jack Benteen, drawn into a border war with a Lonestar State expat, Cash Bailey (Powers Boothe), who has set up a lucrative drug trafficking operation on the south side of the Rio Grande and who just happens to be Benteen’s high school buddy—for good measure, both men are besotted with the same woman, played by María Conchita Alonso. Its cast filled out with a murderer’s row of ’80s action character actors (Clancy Brown, William Forsythe, Michael Ironside), Extreme Prejudice is a muscular modern-day Western that, in its apocalyptic shootout finale, offers more than a slight tip of the Stetson to the then-recently deceased Sam Peckinpah.
