Speciwomen Focus

Founded in 2015, East Village–based non-profit Speciwomen is committed to providing spaces for female and non-binary artists, close to home and all around the world, for researching, retreating, and creating. Metrograph welcomes Speciwomen to our theater to screen two programs of shorts: one from the ever-growing This Long Century archive, on the occasion of the release of their This Long Century: Fifty-One boxset anthology, including work by Kara Walker, Gauri Gill, and Cauleen Smith; the other from their residency program, with a first ever NYC spotlight on the films of Olukemi Lijadu.
