Director Fits x Metrograph: Euzhan Palcy x2
A special event pairing two of the best-loved films—1989’s A Dry White Season and 1992’s Simeon—directed by Martinican filmmaker Euzhan Palcy. Palcy will be appearing in conversation with Hagop Kourounian, whose Instagram account, @DirectorFits, explores the personal styles of a variety of film directors. Kourounian recently contributed to How Directors Dress (A24 Publishing), a volume dedicated to auteur couture, in which Palcy is a key character. The book will be available for purchase at the Metrograph bookstore. “Euzhan Palcy has dedicated her life to telling complex stories through her films,” says Kourounian, “Her work, like her personal directing uniform, commands your attention.”
