New York Film Festival Lithographs

Josef Albers for the 1972 NYFF (signed and numbered serigraph)

$5,000.00

Serigraph designed by Josef Albers for the 10th New York Film Festival, held in 1972.

Signed and numbered by the artist, from an edition of 144 prints, this example being number 75 of 144, with Albers’ signature applied in pencil to lower right.

Screen printed thickly on a stiff woven paper, with great justice done to Albers’ vision, his interaction of colors illuminating a natural geometric shape clearly, in cinematic style.

The 10th turn of the NYFF included Duras’ Nathalie Granger, Fassbinder’s The Merchant of Four Seasons, Godard’s Tout va bien, Ray’s The Adversary, Morrissey’s Heat, and more.

Especially striking for its tall, rectangular stature, not another example in the NYFF or Albers’ print catalogue as such.

Excellent condition all around.

Produced in the artists’ 83rd year.

Certificate of authenticity available.
