Godard on Godard
First U.S. edition of this classic, originally published in France, 1968, featuring Godard’s critical writings from 1950 – 1967, extensive indexes of cited names and films, and a Godard filmography, up to the point of publication.
This copy has the distinction of being signed and from the library of director George Schaefer, who directed Godard muse Jean Seberg in the 1969 neo-noir Pendulum, a year after which Seberg became a target of infamous FBI COINTELPRO attacks, likely on account of her financial backing of civil rights groups.
A very sharp, clean copy with crisp pages and clean dust jacket, which has but a .25″ closed tear on the lower front. Altogether a near fine copy, scarce in such condition.
