Alphaville
Designed and arranged by Peter Whitehead with, as he states in the acknowledgements, “carte-blanche permission for the description of the action of the film” by Godard. Famously shot on only a treatment, with the dialogue later transcribed, Alphaville’s spirit is captured here in book form by Whitehead, with an introduction by Richard Roud.
Illustrated on gloss paper with stills from the film throughout, alongside the “script”, with Godard’s original treatment as an afterword and concluding with his filmography up to the date of publication.
In very good condition with surface marks on the gloss covers, spine creasing and shelf wear. Still a presentable copy, and increasingly scarce in any condition.
