An astonishing account of misused oversight and the abuse of power, Church and the Fourth Estate, follows Adam Steed, a child sex abuse survivor who blew the whistle on Idaho’s Boy Scouts when he was just 14 years old, and former Post Register reporter Peter Zuckerman, who uncovered a file that revealed a shocking series of child-abuse allegations in Idaho’s Boy Scouts. The stories of abuse survivors in Idaho and throughout the country sparked an investigation that rattled a tight-knit community and implicated the Mormon Church, and exposed long-hidden crimes that threatened the existence of the Boy Scouts, who in November 2020 filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. To date, 95,000 cases have now been filed against the Boys Scouts. The film premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival and screened at Meet the Press Film Festival at AFI FEST, Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, and Indy Shorts International Film Festival.
