HUMAN FLOWERS OF FLESH
OPENS AT METROGRAPH APRIL 14

Metrograph is pleased to announce the run of HUMAN FLOWERS OF FLESH, starting APRIL 14.

Helena Wittmann draws inspiration from Claire Denis’ Beau Travail—star Denis Lavant himself appears in a cameo—while presenting an arresting new vision that’s every bit as singular and astonishing as that of her predecessor, following a woman, Ida (Angeliki Papoulia), whose fascination with a crew of French Foreign Legionnaires leads her to a voyage across the Mediterranean. A meditative, mysterious, questing film about inner enigmas, everyday rituals, and elemental forces, containing more than a few bravura moments that give the rare sense of cinema as an artform that is still being discovered.
