Working solely with pastoral photographs by Romanian photographer Costica Acsinte and excerpts from the diary of Jewish doctor Emil Dorian, both originating from between the years 1937 and 1944, Jude’s provocative film jarringly contrasts two narratives of the period: one idyllic, the other apocalyptic.
