The ancient and ultramodern collide in Emigholz’s study of Nervi, the poet of poured concrete, in which Emigholz intersperses his impressions of Nervi’s buildings—including Milan’s Pirelli tower and Paris’s UNESCO headquarters—with contemplation of Ancient Roman constructions, finding unexpected parallels between works built thousands of years apart.
