An awesomely austere adaptation of innovative Austrian composer Arnold Schoenberg’s unfinished opera of the same title, a revisionist retelling of the Biblical story of enslavement and Exodus from a monotheism-skeptical perspective, shot largely in the ruins of the Roman amphitheater at Alba Fucens.
