Glawogger’s globe-hopping documentary study of three sex workers eschews the potential titillation, sensationalism, and lurid exploitation of such a subject to instead provide a clear-eyed, matter-of-fact depiction of the practical and even banal aspects of workaday life in the trade, seen without a filter of either condemnatory outrage or porn chic glamor.
