In his conceptually bold debut feature, Egoyan tells the story of Peter Foster, a troubled 23-year-old who, on entering a “video therapy” program with his family, chances across footage of an Armenian family who’d given up their infant son for adoption upon arrival in Canada, and decides to present himself as their long-lost child.
