Metrograph Standards

January 9 to January 12

Metrograph was conceived with the basic idea of presenting great cinema, both re-introducing classics and establishing new ones, and creating an experience where film and venue will be united in memory. New York has a long history of fabled theaters - the New Yorker, the Elgin, the Bleecker Street - that are forever associated with films they opened and ran throughout their history.

Metrograph is still a young cinema, and we've taken the matter of what movies define, and those that our audience have embraced, very seriously. With that in mind we are pleased to present encore runs of films that received their theatrical premieres at Metrograph, shaped our identity in this first calendar year of existence, and will show us the way forward.
