Joe Carducci: Requiem for the Living Picture

December 10

As a co-owner of legendary SST Records, Joe Carducci fought on the frontlines of the underground American hardcore punk movement—celebrated today, but once shunned. He’s stayed out on the frontier ever since, publishing his rocksupremacist panegyric Rock and the Pop Narcotic in 1991, which now has a kind of companion piece in his new collection of film writing, Stone Male: Requiem for the Living Picture, a work tracing the genealogy of the American outdoor action picture to the world of second unit roughnecks and the early westerns of Francis Ford, brother of John.

The screenings will be followed by a book signing with Joe Carducci of his Stone Male: Requiem for the Living Picture.
