Rachel Weisz and Hilton Als Carte Blanche

December 14

“One afternoon, I was talking to the great actress, Rachel Weisz, about the movies we loved most, and I told her that Montgomery Clift’s performance in John Huston’s 1962 movie Freud was right up there for me; then she confessed to a predilection for Girlfriends, Claudia Weill’s 1978 comedic drama about female friendship. Both movies are masterpieces, not well known, or well enough known, so, we thought we’d show them in the hopes that other film buffs would be as turned on by these treasures as we have been, and continue to be.”—Hilton Als
