DIRECTOR: MARTIN SCORSESE
CAST: GRIFFIN DUNNE, ROSANNA ARQUETTE, VERNA BLOOM
"The film that changed Scorsese. Ballhaus (RIP) turned Marty into a machine on this film. Its accurate portrayal of the city, at a time when SoHo was still dangerous, makes it one of the greatest NYC films of all time. Taking on a similar structure to Voltaire’s Candide (a structure we’ve long admired), it’s a perfect vessel for a film set in the hyper-now. Howard Shore’s electronic score was on loop for a minute in the studio when we were sculpting our own score with Oneohtrix Point Never."
