DIRECTOR: JACQUES DOILLON

CAST: OLIVIER BOUSQUET, ROSELYNE VUILLAUME, ANN ZACHARIAS

Fired by his boss for being late, a baker’s apprentice holes up in the room that comes with the job with a pal, a provincial French girl, and a freewheeling Swedish chick, setting the stage for a post-’68-generation breakdown. Doillon, the unsung genius of post-New Wave cinema, confines most of his film’s activity to a single room where the self-styled rebels bounce off the walls and off one another, making for a crackling, chimeric chamber drama.
