Live from Atlanta, Georgia, it’s “The Superbad Music Event of a Lifetime!” as the chart-topping icon takes the stage with unbridled showmanship. Out-of-print on home video and scarcely screened, a jewelry-wreathed Ike rolls through a set including “I Don’t Know What to Do with Myself,” “I Stand Accused,” and other standards, all backed by the band The Movement, who slather an ecstatic audience with a generous helping of hot buttered soul.

Please note that the print of The Black Moses of Soul is faded but in good condition. The soundtrack is as great as ever.

The Black Moses of Soul is screening as part of the series 4th of July at Metrograph: The Concert Film. Click here for more info.
