DIRECTOR: JOYCE CHOPRA

CAST: LAURA DERN, TREAT WILLIAMS, MARY KAY PLACE, MARGARET WELSH

Following her documentary masterpiece Joyce at 34, Chopra made her fiction feature debut with this finely-observed story of the thrills and perils of a young woman’s sexual awakening. Laura Dern stars as Connie, a fifteen year-old in Northern California who takes advantage of the unstructured days of summer break in order to play for the first time at being a woman, showing off a blossoming body and flirting with very real danger in the form of Treat Williams’s hunky older stranger.
